When I got into rock ‘n’ roll, I didn’t even think I had any option or alternative. It showed me where my future was, just like some people know they are going to be doctors or lawyers or shortstop for the New York Yankees.

Oh God said to Abraham, “Kill me a son”
Abe says, “Man, you must be puttin’ me on”
God say, “No.” Abe say, “What?”

The next time you see me comin’ you better run”

…and it sounded like pure, heavenly magic.  As the song drew to its conclusion Dylan returned to the microphone and re-sang the first two lines; a lovely gesture to all those who had gone into neural shock and missed them first time around. The feeling afterwards was that Dylan can say whatever he wants about his fans in interviews as long as he keeps treating us so generously onstage.

  1. I have the Schubert taping of Zurich 2003 and it seems inferior in terms of quality… Which taping is used here?

  2. Usually i never leave comments here but man it s cruel that down along the cove from amsterdam and to be alone with you from zurich are missing!

  3. every time that listening gives me the heartbeat, are gravely ill and without the will of wanting to cure. Wonderful Quinn the Eskimo
