  1. My wife and I went to the Saturday night show. We had a great time- I thoroughly enjoyed the pre concert fish and chips, and the kipper that I had on Sunday morning was terrific. The venue was great although the bouncers were ridiculously oppressive. Bob and the band sounded great. I’m not tryin to blow my own trumpet, but I’ve seen him a few times, and for me this was the best since Newcastle in either 98 or 99.

  2. Brilliant Egil, my hometown…..although I now live in Australia ….it’s great to see Bob at the Opera house!

  3. … I will also say that these live versions of the Tempest songs blow the studio versions away!!

    1. Thanks for your comments Francis,

I agree about the Tempest songs.. Zimmy had a fantastic tour in Europe.. Maybe we’ll we see a official live album ?

  4. O.K. I’ve been listening a lot lately to some of the 1988 shows. I’ve always liked that particular year of the NET a lot. But, I just listened to this, and after having heard a few of his shows this time through Europe, I have to say that Bob and his band are better now than back then!

  5. Thank you so much for this!(And for all your posts really) What an outstanding end to the Blackpool series. It is amazing after such a long career BD can still find those new angles to stun and delight us all. We are all richer for his dedication to his craft!
