Bob Dylan: Love Sick, Atlantic City, New Jersey 27 February 1999 (video)

bob dylan atlantic city 1999

I’m walking through streets that are dead
Walking, walking with you in my head
My feet are so tired, my brain is so wired
And the clouds are weeping

Did I hear someone tell a lie?
Did I hear someone’s distant cry?
I spoke like a child; you destroyed me with a smile
While I was sleeping

This is indeed a GREAT version.

I’m sick of love but I’m in the thick of it
This kind of love I’m so sick of it

I see, I see lovers in the meadow
I see, I see silhouettes in the window
I watch them ’til they’re gone and they leave me hanging on
To a shadow

I’m sick of love; I hear the clock tick
This kind of love; I’m love sick

Sometimes the silence can be like the thunder
Sometimes I feel like I’m being plowed under
Could you ever be true? I think of you
And I wonder

I’m sick of love; I wish I’d never met you
I’m sick of love; I’m trying to forget you

Just don’t know what to do
I’d give anything to be with you

  1. Nice. I’m not a big concertgoer. I’ve only seen Bob 8 times, but I was at this show and it was incredible, the best of all my Dylan shows, probably the best show I’ve ever been to by any artist. I’m sure a lot of that is the fact that I was literally about 12 feet from Dylan, at the back of a table that was pressed up against the stage. Bob was completely engaged and the band was perfect. The last 2 times I had seen him then was ’85 and ’88 and I wasn’t very impressed. But this was different. The word that describes it best is ALIVE. Don’t Think Twice was a revelation. This show pretty much triggered an obsession of collecting bootlegs, books, etc that was crazy for about 6 years, and hasn’t completely burned out yet. If anyone knows if there is a dvd of this show available I would certainly be interested.
