Jan 16: Bob Dylan & Van Morrison: More and More, New York City 1998

Redirecting to a newer version of this post….

More and more, I’m forgetting the past
More and more, I’m living at last

Day by day, I’m losing my blues
More and more, I’m forgetting about you

Great Webb Pierce song (written by Merle Kilgore) & recorded by Van Morrison on his “Pay The Devil” album from 2006.

You know how I tried keep you by my side
You know how I cried the day you said goodbye

Day by day, I’m losing my blues
More and more, I’m forgetting about you

But oh, how I tried keep you by my side
And oh, how I cried the day you said goodbye

Day by day, I’m losing my blues
More and more, I’m forgetting about you

Day by day, I’m losing my blues
More and more, I’m forgetting about you

Here’s Van Morrison’s album version:

  1. You cannot recreate an original because that is what it is.
Originals are becoming a rare breed, more so in the music industry.
I feel honoured to have lived in the era of the likes of the above 2 people.

  2. Wouldn’t it be grand if Bob and Van would collaborate on a whole album some day (soon).

  3. This comes from a short series of shows at MSG. I saw the first show on Jan 16 (I remember specifically because it’s my wife’s birthday), and Bob & Van did not perform together that night. I wish. This video is from 2 nights later.

  4. It’s not a Hank Williams song. It’s a Webb Pierce song, that Pierce wrote with Merle Kilgore.
