Last Warfield 1980 concert

Dylan delivers one of his finest shows at the end of an historic Warfield residency, with a 24-song set. Between “Simple Twist of Fate” and “Girl from the North Country” he sings, in Paul Williams’s words, “one of the true high points of these shows . . . a knock-’em-dead rendition of Little Willie John’s “Fever.” The song is prefaced by a rap in which Dylan tells of how he heard the song when he was 12 years old in a bingo parlor in Detroit.
