    This is the final track on Slow Train Coming, the first of Dylan’s ‘Born Again’ albums, and one of the strongest of the period. Not an especially attractive place to be, nevertheless the world of this song is fiercely, abrasively impassioned and Dylan gives it a tour de force, self-flagellant performance, demanding to know:
    ‘How long can I listen to the lies of prejudice? /
    How long can I stay drunk on fear out in the
    wilderness?’
