Dec 31: Bob Dylan & The Band performs “Like A Rolling Stone” @ Academy of Music, New York in 1971

“We haven´t played this in.. we haven´t played this in.. how many years? … 6 years we haven´t played this song, 16 years”
-Bob Dylan @ Academy of Music, New York in 1971

Well it was actually 2 years and 4 months, Dylan & The Band played “Like A Rolling Stone” @ Isle Of Wight, England – 31 August 1969.

During the final week of 1971, The Band played four legendary concerts at New York City’s Academy Of Music. For the  New Year’s Eve encore there was a guest appearance by Bob Dylan.

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn’t you?
People call say ‘beware doll, you’re bound to fall’
You thought they were all kidding you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hanging out
Now you don’t talk so loud
Now you don’t seem so proud
About having to be scrounging your next meal

Here is “Like A Rolling Stone” from 1966 – The Legendary Tour (with The Hawks/Band):
