  1. Why?
50 years and 200+ concerts, it just had to happen: boring, boring, boring.
unless he improve tonight the highlight of the London week will be West Ham vs. Chelsea. 5 nights with Sinatras not to look forward to.

  2. Damn this sounds so good!! Love to hear the warm audience reception. Can’t wait to see Bob again.

  3. “Bob Dylan (vocal, guitar, grand piano & keyboard)”

Surely Bob has not started playing guitar again? If he did, this would be the big news from the tour?!?!?!

    1. nice to see the setlist changing, when was the last concert played guitar on stage,?a friend tells me he has arthritis in his hands,if you watch bob he only plays chords on the organ ,perhaps im wrong whats yours thoughts?

  4. Shalom & Boker tov … Shabtai Zisel / ‘Bob Dylan’ has not played acoustic guitar in public since 9 February 2010, electric guitar since 9 November 2012. Prior to November 2012, to see him attempt to play was sad, his obviously arthritic pain causing him to not bending his fingers to fret the strings, thereby creating notes. Instead, his fingers were extended stiffly like a ‘slide’, the guitar in open tuning. The last time I have documentation for him holding a guitar in public, was during the 11 July 2015 sound check. He sat there, holding an electric guitar, trying to strum, finger joints noticably swollen.
You list him playing the guitar. On which songs? Do you have photographs?

  5. I can’t help but feel some fear, if this is what is taking shape for this tour. I liked the endearing Shadows as a curiosity, nicely executed, but not what I find most enthralling in Dylan and his current Band. The inclusion of some of its songs worked so well last time, but this for me is a bit too much, and I already payed for Amsterdam 200 euro, hope I won’t regret it… But Scarlet Town already was a live favourite for me! Well, we’ll see how his magic will work… the theatre is the best setting for him now!

    1. Maybe he will do his Sinatra themed shows at the smaller more intimate venues, it suits the setting. I have been sceptical to this “experiment” as well, but live, with a more pronounced rhythm section than on the album, it was great!

    2. When considering the magnificent magic a small theatre setting can induce, I don’t think one can find a better way to spend two green-colored euro banknotes then on the Royal Square, aka het Koninklijk Theater Carré right on the romantic canal….I’m jealous of all those holding tix for that event at walking distance from the Amstel Hotel….for me it even beats the RAH!

  6. Nice review, glad you enjoyed it! Interesting that you loved Scarlet Town because while that’s one of my favorites off Tempest I thought it lacked a lot of energy live when I saw him in Philly. How do you know those other 2 tracks were Shadows outtakes? Is there a list out there of songs that didn’t make the album? I know Lanois said he had another album’s worth of material but I wasn’t aware of any tracks being mentioned.

    1. I had NOT expected such lovely “Scarlet Town” at all.. listening to the concerts from the 2 previous legs, Scarlet Town was never a highlight for me, but yesterday – fantastic.
Outtakes – reading expectingrain.com & using logic 🙂 Those songs are certainly “shadows” related. I could be wrong.. but doubt it 😉
