We’re playing over here with a lot of pride, it’s a big honor to play in this country, Great Britain. When I grew up, they used to tell me about the Battle of Britain, RAF, Winston Churchill, all that stuff. Now, we all know that Britain stood alone and without any allies; and that always meant a lot to me and everybody that I grew up With.

The year 2000 is regarded by many bobcats to be among the best N.E.T. years.
I´v chosen 5 of my many favourite performances in 2000, 4 of them from the second “Europe” leg (September 13 – October 6). This leg seems to be the favourite leg (in 2000) to many fans (performances from this leg are quite easy to find on youtube, different forums, bootleg blogs, etc..). Please use the Comments section to post your personal favourites from 2000.
The year kicked-off with 2 great shows @ Anaheim, California on March 10. The early show featured 2 live debuts; Tell Me That It Isn’t True and Things Have Changed.
I’ve found a different audience. I’m not good at reading how old people are, but my audience seems to be livelier than they were 10 years ago. They react immediately to what I do, and they don’t come with a lot of preconceived ideas about who they would like me to be, or who they think/ am.

You took a part of me that I really miss
I keep asking myself how long it can go on like this
You told yourself a lie
That’s alright mama, I told myself one too
This is the first part in a new series of posts about Bob Dylan 1979-81: “The Gospel Years”. We will look at the albums, the tours (each leg), timeline, etc..
For obvious reasons, too many Dylan fans seems to ignore this period. That is sad, because it´s an interesting period with many great performances and 3 strong albums. You don´t have to be religious to enjoy such great art.
The next “Bootleg series” release will be about “The Gospel Years”:
If you see her, say hello, she might be in Tangier
She left here last early Spring, is livin’ there, I hear
Say for me that I’m all right though things get kind of slow
She might think that I’ve forgotten her, don’t tell her it isn’t so
This brilliant song has been performed 88 times live by Dylan.
First performance: Civic Center, Lakeland, Florida – April 18, 1976
Last performance: Coveleski Stadium, South Bend, Indiana – July 4, 2009.
They say ev’rything can be replaced
Yet ev’ry distance is not near
So I remember ev’ry face
Of ev’ry man who put me here
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
The whole world is a prison. Life is a prison, we’re all inside the body. Freedom only comes from knowledge and knowledge is power. So just because you’re out there in the desert, facing an endless sky and an unknown nothingness, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re free. You’re trapped in the desert. Only knowledge of either yourself or the ultimate power can get you out of it. I don’t know that much.
