The Flaming Lips are very respectful of their psychedelic roots. They have covered Pink Floyd’s classic album ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ in its entirety (also releasing it in a limited edition). They have also covered whole albums of King Crimson and The Stone Roses (!).
Our favorite modern-day psychedelic surrealists, has also covered another of the late Sixties’ most popular psychedelic band, The Beatles on several occasions. It fits them, they’re good at it and we have “dug up” several examples. There has long been a rumor (or maybe more than a rumor) that the Flaming Lips will cover the entire Sgt. Pepper album.
They have a very strong leaning towards John Lennon, he is after all seen as the more “psychedelic” songwriter in The Beatles.
I could not find Tomorrow Never Knows, even though I know they have played it…

Dylan has been fascinated by numbers all his career, he sometimes put them at the start or at the end of songs, sometimes even in the middle. A lot of his songs have numbers in their titles, I’ve tried to collect them all, tell me if there are songs missing…

Over the years, “You’re a Big Girl Now” fell back to a mid-tempo pace, sometimes with harmonica over the lead-in, sometimes with long instrumental passages between the verses. It would pop up in the set-lists consistently, but not frequently, with some occasionally outstanding performances (Lawrence, Kansas 1994; Toledo, Ohio 1998).

We think it will be called Fallen Angels. It looks like he is still getting inspiration from Film Noir (se picture above). The director, Otto Preminger also made Frank Sinatra’s best film, The Man With The Golden Arm.
It seems to be a sequel of sorts of his last album and will most probably consist of Frank Sinatra standards (songs Sinatra did).
At least some of the work on the album is done in Studio B at Hollywood’s famed Capitol Studios (According to producer Al Schmitt, Feb 11).
It seems like he is brushing up on already recorded material.
