I hereby challenge all readers to put out their personal list of the 20 Greatest albums of all time.
Top 15 /10 is also appreciated.
Use the comments section in this post or check out our Facebook page.
The poll will be open till Tuesday’ish.
The rules:
- ONLY 5 Bob Dylan albums allowed
- It’s an album list, but 2 exceptions are allowed (Greatest Hits/Very Best/..)
This is meant to cover artists that didn’t really put out many “albums”, typically older music 40/50s.
–
Again: Don’t take theses lists so seriously ! It’s meant to be FUN.
——————–
It was a great poll to host, and we got lists in from 52 musicologists.
notes:
- It’s nice to see (though hardly a surprise) 3 Dylan albums on top (as on my list)
- lists with fewer than 5 did not count
- Live albums did not count, including my own “Live @ San Quentin”, as stated above.. this will be a separate poll

No “FOREVER CHANGES” by LOVE. Any list without this album in the top ten at least is false, forfeit, wrong.
More comments to follow after I have looked at all the other lists and comments, but I had to comment now on the above.
I like Forever Changes a lot, but not in my top 20, maybe not in my top 50 either, but I think it’s a classic album and every time I play it I discover new things about it.
Hi Hallgeir, Thank you for your comment which I have carefully considered and this is my conclusion – Have you tried therapy? I ask this because your taste in music is obviously flawed. ; ))
Where is my comment? I can`t find it.
Sorry Hallgeir, my comment has suddenly appeared.
haha, yeah, I know, my therapist thinks I’m a lost cause

Part of my top 200 -> http://alldylan.com/bob-dylan-top-200-songs-accoding-to-egil/
Looks really good so far. Especially the articles about the songs are interesting!
For every Music Junkie it’s extremely tough to make a limited list because you have to leave off so many of your Favorites. So to partly cheat my list will be Top 25. It’ll be in no particular order because any of these albums could be #1 on any particular day. Neil Young is my Favorite & he’s the only Artist I’ve given 2 spots to & I hated leaving people off like Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Beck, Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart, Van Morrison, Laura Marling, The Band, Prince, Rilo Kiley etc.
Top 25
1. On tHe Beach – Neil Young

18. Eric Clapton – Unplugged
19. The Kinks – The Village Green Preservation Society
20. Pink Floyd – The Wall (not “really” on LAST place)
Lists are fun 🙂
No Neil Young or Van Morrison ?
surely there are great Morrison- or Young-songs but I don’t have a whole album of each on my mind that deserves to be on that list…
