November 20: Bob Dylan live at Harvard Square Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts 1975

bob dylan cambridge 1975

….this concert is filmed, with three songs appearing in Renaldo and Clara: “It Ain’t Me, Babe,” which appears on the promotional EP as well, “Just Like a Woman,” and “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” It is a relatively intimate venue with just 1,850 capacity; and the whole Revue responds with a particularly fine show. Before the concert, a scene is filmed of Sara Dylan as a hitchhiker being picked up in a Rolls Royce. Again, this is not included in the film.

November 14, Classic Concert: Bob Dylan Worcester, Massachusetts 1999

Redirecting to a newer version of this post….

1999 was a great year for Bob Dylan’s “Never Ending Tour”.

For all the splendours of earlier in the year [1999], this last leg was the most consistently triumphant. By the time Dylan brought the year’s touring to an end, with an extended set on November the 20th, he had played 121 shows – the most in a single year of his entire career. It had been a very good year, the best since 1995.
~Andrew Muir (One More Night: Bob Dylan’s Never Ending Tour)

A lot of concerts from this tour is in circulation (both video & audio) and this concert is (…again) a great example from that last leg.

October 31: Bob Dylan & Friends – Plymouth 1975

dylan 75 front 1

This is a ‘must have’ CD. Period. Fans of Rolling Thunder will find this first venue of the tour to be electrifyingly fresh and vibrant. Everything was new, mysterious, and exciting. The stunned audience would have to wait two more months for the release of this mystical music on the ‘Desire’ LP. As the tour wore on, some of the spontaneous edge began to dull with the wear and tear of life on the road. Fans of ‘Desire’ will thrill to the encore magic captured in Dylan’s voice and in Scarlet Rivera’s violin.

Bob Dylan: Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts 10 May 1963

Dylan performs on the opening night of the two-day Brandeis University Folk Festival in Waltham, MA. His set immediately precedes the intermission, although he stays around for the statutory communal finale. Despite poor acoustics, he is well received.
