I need to hear a tape of this show to possibly confirm it’s the
best show I’ve seen in three years. What a night! Great
performance and set list from Bob.

Slot 2 tonight was a real treat of TO RAMONA with Bob on guitar!! Long time since I last saw him play the guitar. Nice. Then a powerful, powerful HIGHWAY 61.. this arrangement is stellar. A brutally good STORMY WEATHER was followed by a rocking, rolling, roaring version of SUMMER DAYS.

Fantastic soundboard recording of a great show. .. The acoustic versions of Tambourine Man, Hard Rain and, particularly, It’s All Over Now Baby Blue (where he places all the emphasis on “All” when singing the title-line) are stunning.

“At 75, Dylan shows every sign of rising to new heights. He is doing so by embracing anew his own legacy, and adding new twists, as has long been his style, and by embracing some of the Great American Songbook gems he pointedly spurned in the spoken introduction to his 1962 song, “Bob Dylan’s Blues.”
“This is unlike all the rest of the songs comin’ out of uptown New York — a Tin Pan Alley thing,” he said at the time, the derision in his voice unmistakable. “This one wasn’t written up there … this was … written down in the United States.”
Today, 54 years later, Dylan’s songs are as indelible a part of the American music fabric as any batch of Tin Pan Alley classics. Things have changed, undeniably, since then. But Dylan — in the autumn of his years — remains sturdy and vital. We’re lucky to have him.” – San Diego Union Tribune
Ever a man of moods, Dylan returns to blazing form with a terrific 95-minute, 17-song set. Again a wealth of songs are introduced, five songs in the electric sets being performed for the first time on the 1988 tour: “Joey,” “Watching the River Flow,” “Tangled Up in Blue,” “It Takes a Lot to Laugh,” and Glen Glenn’s “Everybody’s Movin’.” Also introduced into the acoustic set are “San Francisco Bay Blues,” which is met with whoops of recognition by the Bay Area audience, “The Times They Are a-Changin’,” and a sensitive “Rank Strangers to Me,” the second selection from Dou:n in the Groove. Neil Young joins the band for the second electric set, staying on stage for the remainder of the show.
